Ad blockers are hiding your cam links and widgets (and how to get them back)

Chaturbate logo on an admission ticket, stub reading Ad blockers

Open your cam site with uBlock Origin turned on. Chances are the Stripchat player is an empty box and some of your Chaturbate links have simply vanished from the page. No error, no warning: for that visitor, your monetization doesn’t exist.

The short version

  • EasyList, the default list of uBlock Origin, AdBlock Plus, AdBlock and Brave, blocks the Stripcash tracking domain whitetrafsa.com: Stripchat widgets served from it stay empty for visitors with an ad blocker.
  • As of September 2026, EasyList also hides every link whose address starts with https://chaturbate.com/in/?, which is the format of Chaturbate affiliate links.
  • Pointing affiliate links to a redirect on your own domain (for example /out/chaturbate/) keeps them visible, because the cosmetic rules match the link’s address.
  • A blocked Stripchat Player iframe still fires its load event and stays empty; a bait element with ad-like class names, checked after the page loads, tells you a blocker is active so you can show a fallback.

What do the blocklists actually contain?

They contain the tracking domains and link formats cam affiliates rely on. Most ad blockers (uBlock Origin, AdBlock Plus, AdBlock, Brave’s built-in blocker) start from the same list, EasyList. We read it line by line for the domains cam affiliates use. As of September 2026, it contains among others:

RuleWhat it does to you
||whitetrafsa.com^Blocks the Stripcash tracking domain, including its widgets
||creative.stripchat.com^Blocks Stripchat creatives
||chaturbate.com/in/Blocks Chaturbate affiliate links
##a[href^="https://chaturbate.com/in/?"]Hides every link to a Chaturbate affiliate URL, in any page
||ptwmjmp.com^Blocks the AWEmpire (LiveJasmin) link domain
##.cta-ad, ##.sponsor-block, ##.promoad…Hides elements by class name, whatever they contain
A network rule blocks a request; a “##” rule hides an element of your page.

Two families, two different problems. Network rules stop the widget from loading. Cosmetic rules (the ones starting with ##) remove your links and boxes from the page before the visitor sees them. The list is updated constantly, so check it again every few months: search it for the domains in your own links.

Send them through a redirect on your own domain: a link to your own site matches none of the cosmetic rules. Replace every raw affiliate URL in your pages with a short path you control:

In the page:   https://yoursite.com/out/chaturbate/
Redirects to:  https://chaturbate.com/in/?track=...&campaign=YOUR_ID

On WordPress, a small must-use plugin is enough. This is close to what runs on this site:

<?php // wp-content/mu-plugins/out.php
const OUT_LINKS = array(
  'chaturbate' => 'https://chaturbate.com/in/?track=...&campaign=YOUR_ID',
  'stripcash'  => 'https://stripcash.com/sign-up/?userId=YOUR_ID',
);
add_action( 'muplugins_loaded', function () {
  $path = parse_url( $_SERVER['REQUEST_URI'] ?? '', PHP_URL_PATH );
  if ( preg_match( '#^/out/([a-z0-9-]+)/?$#', $path, $m ) && isset( OUT_LINKS[ $m[1] ] ) ) {
    header( 'X-Robots-Tag: noindex, nofollow' );
    header( 'Cache-Control: no-store, private' );
    header( 'Location: ' . OUT_LINKS[ $m[1] ], true, 302 );
    exit;
  }
} );

A few details that matter:

  • Use a 302, send noindex and no-store, and add Disallow: /out/ to robots.txt. Search engines have nothing to do on these URLs.
  • Put rel="sponsored nofollow" on the link itself.
  • Avoid class names and file names that blocklists target: ad, ads, banner, sponsor, promo, partner-ad, and folders like /partners/ads/. A neutral name keeps the box visible.
  • Keep all redirects in one place. When a program changes its link format, you edit one line instead of hundreds of pages.

One limit remains: the click still ends on the program’s domain. Depending on the blocker and its settings, the visitor may land on a warning page before reaching a blocked domain; we have not confirmed this in our own tests. No redirect can hide the final destination. What the redirect fixes is the part that costs you the most: links nobody ever sees.

How do you detect a blocked Stripchat widget?

Test for the blocker itself, because the iframe won’t tell you. You can’t unblock a blocked iframe, but you can notice it and show something useful instead of a black rectangle. The tricky part is that a blocked Stripchat Player iframe still fires its load event. It just stays empty and never talks to the page.

The classic check is a bait: a tiny element carrying class names that EasyList hides. If it comes back hidden after the page loads, a blocker is active, and with default lists the widget domain is blocked too. (For the player’s own message API, see our guide to the Player widget.)

window.addEventListener('load', () => {
  const bait = document.createElement('div');
  bait.className = 'ad-slot ad-unit sponsor-block';   // classes hidden by EasyList
  bait.style.cssText = 'position:absolute;left:-9999px;width:1px;height:1px;';
  bait.innerHTML = ' ';
  document.body.appendChild(bait);
  setTimeout(() => {
    const blocked = bait.offsetHeight === 0 || getComputedStyle(bait).display === 'none';
    bait.remove();
    if (blocked) document.getElementById('blocker-note').hidden = false;
  }, 300);
});

The note can be a poster image of the model, one line such as “Live video hidden by your ad blocker”, and a link to the room through your own redirect. A visitor with a blocker can’t watch the embed, but they can still click. A bait only tells you that a blocker is running, not which rule fired, so keep the note discreet rather than covering the page.

How to audit your own site in 15 minutes

  1. Create a clean browser profile and install uBlock Origin with its default lists only.
  2. Open your home page, a model page, a category page and an article, side by side with a browser without blocker.
  3. Note every empty space, every missing button and every link that disappeared.
  4. Open the uBlock logger on each page: it lists the exact rule that removed each element. That tells you whether to fix a link, a class name or a widget.
  5. Repeat after every theme change. A new class name can put you back on the list.

Frequently asked questions

Do ad blockers block Stripchat widgets?

Yes. EasyList blocks the whitetrafsa.com domain that serves Stripcash widgets and tracking links, so the widget iframe stays empty for visitors using uBlock Origin, AdBlock Plus, AdBlock or Brave with default settings.

Why do my Chaturbate affiliate links disappear?

EasyList contains a cosmetic rule that hides every link starting with https://chaturbate.com/in/?, the format of Chaturbate affiliate links. The link is removed from the page before the visitor sees it. Linking to a redirect on your own domain avoids the rule.

Does a redirect on my own domain bypass ad blockers completely?

It keeps the link visible, which is the biggest loss. After the click, depending on the blocker, the visitor may land on a warning page when the final destination is on its blocklist. We have not confirmed this in our own tests.

Is it allowed to redirect affiliate links through my site?

A plain redirect that sends the visitor to the program with your own tracking is standard practice. What programs forbid is cookie stuffing, misleading ads or hiding the destination from the visitor. Check each program’s terms, and never set affiliate cookies without a real click.

Which class names should I avoid on affiliate boxes?

Avoid names containing ad, ads, banner, sponsor, promo or partner-ad, and image folders like /partners/ads/. EasyList hides many of these generically. A neutral name tied to your own design is safe.

Every empty box you find in that audit is revenue you have been losing without any error to warn you. It takes an afternoon to fix.
